SLOVENŠČINA

LET'S LEARN SLOVENE!
Naučimo se slovensko!
Slovene or Slovenian is a language spoken by more than 2.5 million Slovenians in Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Argentina ...

Slovenian is a South Slavic language (like Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian, Bulgarian). Slovene is a romantic language because it has the singular beside the plural and also the dual (speaking about two people). To work in Slovenia, you need to speak and write in Slovenian.

Although Slovenians like to talk to foreigners in a foreign language (English, German, Spanish, Italian), we feel more comfortable talking with you in Slovenian.

We have an exceptional variety of programs and learning modules, including our in-house developed learning board game Lingopoly, to help everyone!

LINGOPOLY

We will teach you everything you need, from the alphabet on all the way to be able to excel in fluent conversation at work, tourism, casual chat or meeting new people.

real examples of our students

My girlfriend is a foreigner and because she is moving to Slovenia, she wants to learn Slovenian. I don’t know how to teach it because I have no idea how the mother tongue is taught with all our declensions and suffixes. Can you help her with Slovene for foreigners?

We can help! We have a very well-developed Slovenian language program for foreigners, with which we help students learn Slovenian step by step and enjoy it. We shouldn't overwhelm them with all the rules and endings right from the start.

In the foreground is communication, new words with which we build sentences, and only through concrete examples in dialogues and in sentences, we help them with rules, as with shortcuts to more and more correct expressions. The courses are held both online via video conference and live here in Ljubljana.

The bonus that our students have is the SOL (Study Online Language) online platform, which allows many added exercises with instant solutions, audio and video clips for listening and imitation, graphic visual display of vocabulary and grammar, phonetic exercises, songs and cultural highlights. You can also surprise her with a very useful and fun gift, a set of board games for learning and consolidating Slovenian Lingopoly - Who are they? At the same time, they will have fun together and strengthen their Slovenian.

Who teaches?

Foreign language teachers and native speakers. All the teachers in our company attended a thorough interview, presented a lesson plan, taught a demo lesson, and attended internal training before they started teaching. During their first lessons, every new teacher has a mentor who monitors their quality of teaching to make sure standards are met.
We also organize several internal and external trainings throughout the year. Our courses are taught by empathetic and likable teachers with a positive mindset, who are not lecturers but course moderators. This means that they do not teach in the 'frontal instruction' style in which students only listen passively. Instead, learning is promoted through active individual and group work. Students are encouraged to speak more than the teachers and are guided towards having fluent conversations in their chosen foreign language.
Above all, it is important for everyone that students have a positive experience with the language they are learning.
At the end of each course, we also check our teachers' performances with a survey.

Great teachers and a pleasant atmosphere.

Probably one of the best options for a quick and convenient start to Slovenian language studies. Friendly and skilled teachers, cozy classrooms, good prices, and many options on how to design your own course: from offline group lessons to self-studying on the school's online portal. 5/5, recommend!

google

I would highly recommend Jezikovno Mesto to anyone interested in learning Slovenian. My teacher was Bojana, she is a very thoughtful teacher, her lessons were engaging, useful and she was very patient with everyone in class and always encouraging us to try. I learned something from every class, plus had a lot of fun dong it.

google

I have been having Slovenian lessons with Bojana since December and am very glad I chose Jezikovno Mesto. Bojana makes everything really clear and provide lots of vocabulary along with grammar. I feel that I am improving quickly. The online learning platform provides lots of opportunities for practice. I definitely recommend Jezikovno Mesto.

I would add another star, but I'm not that literate. Thank you Of course, many thanks to Prof. Matthew

google

Excellent attitude and responsiveness, very instructive lessons that are interesting at the same time and include the individual's interests in connection with the language. I attended a German course from which I learned a lot in a relaxed atmosphere and from a teacher who really knows her job. I highly recommend it.
